Haringrodestraat — Antwerpen

Op de hoeken van de Haringrodestraat en de Lamorinièrestraat heerst een sfeer van rivaliteit. Iedere hoek wil enigszins prominent zijn waarbij ze zich morfologisch verhouden als eindpunt van het bouwblok. Ons hoekgebouw neemt ook een prominente houding aan, maar integreert op harmonieuze wijze met het straatbeeld door enkele uiterlijke kenmerken te behouden en zich af te stemmen op de naaste omgeving. Door inclinaties in de gevel zoekt de schaal aansluiting bij de woningen in de straat en wordt het geheel lichter en elegant. De wijk is mooi door haar consistentie en gelaagdheid en hier willen we niets aan veranderen.

Het gebouw telt zeven bouwlagen waarbij het typeplan zich vertaald als drie wooneenheden met zicht en licht op de straatzijde, gelegen rondom een compacte kern met een sculpturale trap. De twee bovenste bouwlagen vormen het hoekaccent om aansluiting te zoeken bij de tegenoverliggende hoekgebouwen. Aangezien de constructie een grote flexibiliteit garandeert, bezit het programma een gevarieerde mix van de verschillende typeappartementen met zowel één, twee als drie slaapkamerappartementen om voldoende variatie van bewoners aan te spreken.

At the corners of Haringrodestraat and Lamorinièrestraat there is an atmosphere of rivalry. Every corner wants to be somewhat prominent, morphing into the end point of the building block. Our corner building also assumes a prominent position, but integrates harmoniously with the streetscape by retaining some external features and aligning itself with its immediate surroundings. Through inclinations in the façade, the scale connects with the dwellings in the street and the whole becomes lighter and more elegant. The neighbourhood is beautiful because of its consistency and layering, and we do not want to change this.

The building has seven floors in which the type plan is translated into three residential units with a view and light on the street side, situated around a compact core with a sculptural staircase. The two upper floors form the corner accent to connect to the opposite corner buildings. Since the construction guarantees great flexibility, the programme has a varied mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom flats to appeal to a sufficient variety of residents.
